“We wish to demonstrate to the whole entire world who is using violence. It is evident. You recognize who’s making use of violence right now. Search at me. Do We’ve anything at all on me? No. We have been skilled on techniques like (these of) Ghandi, like Martin Luther King, Mandela. We think in that and we are going to stay employing our nonviolent methods until the planet sees who is the actual oppressor,” stated Sari, a student from Ramalla

Israeli troops have opened fire on pro-Palestinian demonstrators who allegedly attempted to cross the fence separating Syria from the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. Syrian state media report at least 20 individuals were killed. Among those noted killed ended up a lady and little one. The incident was a part of a wave of Palestinian demonstrations marking the 44th anniversary from the 1967 Arab-Israeli war.

Israeli soldiers opened fire right after warning a huge selection of demonstrators from Syria to remain from the barbed wire fence that marks the boundary.

Palestinian demonstrators and their Syrian supporters approached the fence, waving Palestinian flags and chanting slogans insisting the land Israel captured in the 1967 war is Arab land.

The demonstration has long been planned for weeks, and Israel had prepared by deploying thousands of soldiers and reinforcing the fence. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he instructed protection forces to act with “maximum restraint.”

He explained ‘extremist forces’ bordering Israel are looking to breach its borders and threaten its communities and citizens. He stressed Israel will not likely permit them do that.

Activists named the demonstrations to mark the anniversary with the 1967 war where Israel fought Jordan, Syria, and Egypt, and won control in the West Lender, East Jerusalem, the Golan Heights, the Gaza Strip, as well as the Sinai Peninsula. 

Israel has because returned the Sinai to Egypt and disengaged through the Gaza Strip.

In the Gaza Strip, hundreds marched in the vicinity of the main Israeli checkpoint.

Protests turned violent in the Qalandia checkpoint between Jerusalem and the West Bank city of Ramallah, wherever some demonstrators threw rocks at Israeli soldiers who fired tear gasoline and rubber bullets.

Sari, a student from Ramallah, stated the purpose in the protests is always to call international interest towards the Palestinians’ cause. He additional that Israeli forces could have helped the demonstrators by using force.

“We need to demonstrate towards the entire entire world who is utilizing violence. It is apparent. You know who’s using violence today. Look at me. Do We have anything on me? No. We are skilled on methods like (these of) Ghandi, like Martin Luther King, Mandela. We feel in that and we are going to stay using our nonviolent approaches until finally the entire world sees who’s the real oppressor,” said Sari.

The demonstrations are the newest inside a series of coordinated protests known as by activists to arise before September, when Palestinian leaders approach to visit the United Nations to use for total membership being an independent state.

The Palestinians are looking to collect global help to the move, which they say they’re pushing because of very last year’s collapse of peace negotiations with Israel.
